Let's Talk SEC Football

Teams came close last week to upsetting the big #1 and #2...but..no cigar.

I really thought i had some good picks last week,some really good upset picks.. of course it did not turn out that way..Could it have been the Refs, surely there was not any bad calls made,not from the officials... That is why they are SUSPENDED.....I have to say to all the Florida Fans out there...You got lucky..Say what you want to say but you know you got lucky.Now that i have said my piece on that i will get on with my picks....


ARKANSAS VS. OLE MISS

Arkansas is the best unranked team i have seen in a long time..they are fast to the ball,really good in the secondary,strong on the offensive side of the ball...they should have gotten the opportunity to show that last week with a win against Florida ..but we know how that went.Ole Miss has talent, well coached ,and a good quarterback..This game will come down to turn overs,a special teams play,it will be close.....but from what i have seen in the last couple of weeks i have to go with Arkansas in a close one. (sorry Uncle Phil...)....24-21 Arkansas wins.



TENNESSEE VS. ALABAMA

If i had to pick a number one team at this point in the season ,with out a doubt it would be Alabama...They are very good on both sides of the ball,well coached,strong on defense,pretty good quarterback,they are very sound..I like that word,...sound...It is really hard to to see Alabama stumble this week against my beloved VOLS.... However, on any given saturday anything can happen... Special teams play, Fumble ,Int, any little thing can turn a game around.I am not going to say it will happen this week,Alabama is good...did you hear me.?Alabama is really good.If Tennessee can keep it close ,they will have a shot at the end,....This game could go either way,..it could be a blow out,it could be an upset ..I have no pick for this game....



VANDY VS. SOUTH CAROLINA

This game should not even be close.South Carolina is fast on defense,pretty good on offense,they are really the better team.Vandy is always pretty strong on defense,they will need alot of help to pull this off...(35-10)South Carolina wins.



FLORIDA VS. MISS.ST.

Florida is to big,strong,fast,good... for Miss St. to have any kind of shot in the dark for a win....Florida wins big ...(52-14)


AUBURN VS. LSU

Really good game...Auburn is still undefeated,but , that they will get beat this week end, LSU will win this game on pure talent...LSU could be the very team that upsets Alabama later on in the season...I have to go with LSU...in a really good game ...(35-21)LSU WINS

Mid week discussion..I did not see a #1 team saturday

I watched alot of the games on saturday and i did not see a team that i can honestly say is an all out dominating #1... Florida just squeaked by Arkansas...They did not show me that they can pull away from any opponent,How many fumbles did they give up ? Not 1 ,not 2, but 4..They really should have gotten beat.


Alabama had a Killer running game with Ingram..(246 yards .come on )But they just were not dominant.Their passing game was not up to par,and their defense showed holes in the secondary...


Texas beat Oklahoma by 3 freakin points..That was without The starting qb for Oklahoma...I think there would have been an upset in the making if Bradford had not gotten hurt.


Virginia Tech got beat by Georgia Tech... So they are going to drop out of the top 10 more than likely....


The BCS POLL... came out yesterday for the first time...no surprise there... Me personally .i think the BCS POLL .,stinks..

Let's Talk SEC Football

Here we go...Big week for SEC Football..

First of all I have to say this one more time...Go Big Orange ..big win last week..ok.ok. I will get on with it now.

Coming in from Atlanta yesterday i saw alot of Georgia flags waving in the air.They are pissed off and plan on putting it to Vandy..I dont think so.. If and that is a big if..Vandy can show up big on defense they have a shot at taking this game..Georgia has had trouble scoring on their opponents this year.I am taking Vandy by 7 (21-14)



ARKANSAS VS. FLORIDA

Florida is at home,They are ranked #1 in the nation,They have a monster for a quarterback,They have a swagger about them,They are like a shark when they smell blood,However,... it is so very hard to go undefeated in the SEC... I am picking Florida to win only becouse you would be crazy not to... but it will be close.(35-28) Florida wins.



SOUTH CAROLINA VS. ALABAMA

South Carolina wins this game....call me crazy, I honestly believe Spurrier has a game plan to pull this off...Look, there will not be Two undeated teams going to the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP.....This is the week someone goes down... I picked Florida to win .i could be wrong about that.. You never know what can happen in this ruthless ,highly intense, game we love ..called college football.. South Carolina wins (21-17)



KENTUCKY VS. AUBURN

Auburn has a great defense, and to much power on offense,I dont see how Kentucky can overcome and prevail... could be a high scoring game.. Auburn wins..(35-21)

Look at the standings right now and tell me an 8 team playoff would not be some great match ups.

Mid week discussion..BCS VS. PLAYOFF system..?

This has been a hot topic for the last few years now, and from what i have come to realize is that it seems to be split down the middle..Me personally.? I think the BCS system sux.Forget strength of scedule,how bad you beat someone,who is on first, all that crap... Take the top eight teams put them in a play off system and see who is the better team.(#1 plays #8...#2 plays #7...) It will only take three weeks to get a true champion...Let me tell you why a playoff system is not wanted ...MONEY... Money from the bowl games.. that go to the schools that are invited to the bowl...But this is my take on things,I am interested in hearing what you have to say.

LSU VS.FLORIDA

Big GAME...I am caught between a rock and a hard place with this pick.It really comes down to the Tebow factor...will he play ...or will he sit... If there is any way possible for him to play ..he will play.He is a warrior on the field,but this call could be out of his hands.LSU HAS YET to show me that explosive offense we are use to seeing from them,will they bust it out on saturday against the #1 team in the country?With out Tebow,Lsu wins...with Tebow,it would be very close...LSU PULLS THE UPSET..35-28



TENNESSEE VS. GEORGIA

Should be another good game,depending on which Tennessee team shows up.Tennessee's offense showed sighs of getting alittle better last saturday against Auburn(Quarterback still in question)however ... Tennessee ran their 2 min.offense before the half and marched down the field and scored,and again and the end of the game with the score still close and marched 79 yards in 34 seconds for a score..so it looks like they are going to stick with Johnathan Crompton at quarterback regardlees of the games outcome... I love the vols..always will.but they are breaking my heart with these SEC losses...Georgia has been in some close games this year also,it is not the best team they have had..Good quarterback,strong arm,smart upstairs...If he can stand up against the strong defense of Tennessee they have a good shot at the win... I have a feeling that Tennessee will bring the heat and pull this win out.21-17 Tennessee wins


ALABAMA VS. OLE MISS

On any given saturday any team can win,the odds are against it but it does happen...watch out alabama this week against Ole Miss...I have a feeling that this could be closer than the point spread.Alabama is very strong,very talented ,very well coached... Some would say that it would take a miracle for Ole Miss to win.. it could happen...28-21..Ole miss wins


MISS ST. VS HOUSTON

Houston is very good,to good for Miss St. Houston is power packed on the offensive side of the ball...will score alot..35-14..Houston wins


AUBURN VS.ARKANSAS

Auburn is undefeated..but that could very well change this week end against Arkansas.. I think Arkansas has a pretty good offense,and can take it down field on Auburn .The question will be can Arkansas stop them on defense.I am not going with the underdog this time ..27-21 Auburn wins..

Kentucky vs.South Carolina..South Carolina by 10...30-20

For my man ROB... I am picking Michigan over Iowa...35-28

Let's Talk SEC Football

Alabama vs. Kentucky

Kentucky came out strong last year,they really showed signs of life in the sec.This year ..not so much...I dont see this being very close at all,in fact it will more than likely be over by half time.Alabama is very strong on both sides of the ball,and they are on a mission this year.35-7..Alabama wins....


LSU VS. GEORGIA

This game is going to be a really good game,Georgia started out slow..just getting by...I dont think they have enough power to get this job done on Saturday... They are ranked 11 out of 12 in scoring defense..LSU will score on them and often.28-14..LSU wins...


OLE MISS VS. VANDY

We will see if OLE MISS can get back on their feet ofter the beat down by S.C. last week..I dont believe in Preseason Polls...I think they take Vandy,but in a close game..21-14..OLE MISS wins..



AUBURN VS. TENNESSEE

O.K...here we go...Auburn is ranked #2 in scoring offense...Tennessee has shown signs of being pretty good on defense..Tennessee is anemic on the offensive side of the ball,I love them ,but i dont see them winning this game if they do not get some breaks..The quarterback is in question,that position has been for the last two years now.TIME will tell if this is a building year or not..Auburn's opponents are scoring 24.2 points a game ..that will not be enough to win..35-21..AUBURN wins..

FLORIDA HAS A BYE WEEK... how lucky is that with Tim Tebow out with a concussion...they are saying he should be back in time for next weeks game with LSU...
